Bayoxide E33, Birm, Hydrox & Juraperle Supplies, Iron Removal and Neutralisation in Water

Aquacover offer Bayoxide E33, Birm, Calcite, Crystal Right, Ecomix®A, Ecomix®P, Ecomix®C, Hydrox and Juraperle for iron removal and neutralisation.

Bayoxide E33®  is a synthetic iron oxide (Fe2O3) media mainly used for the removal of arsenic. The ferric oxide works through absorption and will reduce arsenic levels to below 4µg/L.

Birm is a relatively inexpensive material which can be used for iron and manganese removal by oxidisation. It requires a pH of 7 or more for iron removal and pH 8 for manganese removal, it uses dissolved oxygen in the water to oxide the metal.

Birm acts as a catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen and the iron compounds, changing the Fe²+ into Fe³+ and form ferric hydroxide that precipitates and may be easily filtered. As it acts as a catalyst it is not consumed so Birm doesn’t require regenerating or topping up.

Calcite is the most common form of naturally occurring calcium carbonate (white marble) which is crushed and screened. It is used to neutralise acidic water. Depending on pH and other parameters Calcite will be exhausted after some time and needs to be replenished.

Crystal Right is a synthetic zeolite but without impurities and with predefined grain sizes developed for the treatment of well water. Thanks to its unique crystal structure Crystal Right removes hardness, iron and manganese and increases the pH.

Ecomix®A for well or tap water with moderate organic matter, requires stable quality of water.

Ecomix®P for well or tap water with moderate organic matter, handles seasonal variations in water composition.

Ecomix®C for well or tap water with high organic matter, handles seasonal variations in water composition even with significant changes in raw water quality.

Hydrox can be used for iron and manganese and hydrogen sulphide removal by oxidation. It requires a pH of 7 or more for iron removal and 8 for manganese content. It is heavy, and needs a high backwash flow rate to remove  the oxidised iron and manganese but gives a high service flow rate and out lasts Birm.

Juraperle is a filter fine granulation medium on the basis of fossil limestone structures. It is applied to increase the pH of poor water, and possibly iron removal. During filtration the free CO² is converted to bicarbonate and calcium is dissolved respectively. By this, the pH and hardness rate is raised. In addition, the iron is also filtered. As calcium is dissolved, the product must be filled regularly.
