Simplex Clack Softener WITH SALT ALARM metered 1″

Price range: £739.00 through £821.00

The salt alarm on our IPS softeners measures  the quality of the brine as it flows into the  softener. If salt level is low OR for some reason if  there is plenty of salt BUT the softener can’t suck it  up then the softener will give a salt alarm. This alarm can be seen on the screen and picked up on the ERROR relay.

How does it work?
During the regeneration process brine is drawn up into softener. As it passes into the softener two electrodes measure the  conductivity of the brine. Brine has a very high conductivity so it can easily be distinguished from water or air. The electrodes can even tell the difference between brine which is not the right strength.

The advantage of measuring the brine as it flows through into the softener rather than just measuring salt height in the brine tank is that if there is a problem with the suction and the brine doesn’t flow this method can spot it whereas brine tank method cannot.
The first three generations are used to calibrate the system.
