Atlas UV LED 50L/min unit
£840.00
The Atlas LED 50 L/min is the largest model in the Atlas LED UV steriliser range. It is designed for high-demand domestic and commercial water systems, providing chemical-free disinfection of drinking water using UV-C LED technology. It can inactivate up to 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa without affecting the taste, smell, or composition of the water. (UV Water Filter UK)
Here’s how it compares with the other models:
| Model | Maximum flow | Typical application |
|---|---|---|
| 7 L/min | Single tap | Caravan, boat, drinking water |
| 15 L/min | Small home | Multiple taps, office, café |
| 25 L/min | Large home/commercial | Restaurants, hotels, healthcare |
| 50 L/min | High-capacity commercial | Large homes, food production, laboratories, industrial systems |
Key features of the 50 L/min model include:
- Maximum flow rate: up to 50 L/min for reverse osmosis water, or around 37 L/min for conventionally filtered water.
- Flow-activated operation: the UV LEDs only switch on when water is flowing, reducing power consumption and extending LED life.
- Minimum activation flow: 7 L/min.
- 1-inch BSPP (G1) connections for high-flow installations.
- Stainless steel and aluminium construction, rated for up to 20 bar operating pressure.
- Operates with water temperatures from 5°C to 55°C.
Typical applications include:
- Whole-house water treatment for large properties.
- Commercial kitchens and restaurants.
- Hotels and hospitality.
- Dental and healthcare facilities.
- Laboratories.
- Food and beverage production.
- Post-treatment for reverse osmosis systems.
Like all UV sterilisers, it:
- Inactivates microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and protozoa.
- Uses no chemicals and produces no by-products.
- Does not remove sediment, heavy metals, chlorine, or dissolved chemicals.
- Requires clear, pre-filtered water for effective UV disinfection.
The 50 L/min model is intended for installations with much higher water demand than the 7, 15, or 25 L/min versions. For a typical family home, the 15 L/min or 25 L/min model is usually sufficient, while the 50 L/min model is better suited to large homes with multiple simultaneous users or commercial applications.
